Aromatic and high quality spices play an important role in turning a simple home cooked meal into a feast. The house feels warm, alive and inviting. Whenever I cook at home or at the cooking classes the atmosphere created because of the fragrant spices is incredible. The color, fragrance and taste of all these spices are unique. Whole Black Cardamoms $7.00

Black Cardamoms are one of the main spices used in the curry dishes as well as for the rice recipes. They have a subtle aroma and add a light taste to the dishes.

Whole Green Cardamoms $7.00

Green Cardmoms are one of the main spices used in the curry dishes as well as when preparing rice. Green cardamoms are also used in desserts and have a subtle sweet aroma.

4 inch Cinnamon Sticks $5.95

Cinnamon Sticks are used with other whole spices in curries and rice. Cinnamon is also used in tea with cloves and small cardamoms especially during winter. Just add a cinnamon stick, whole clove and green cardamom when boiling water for tea, makes good masala/spice tea.

Extra Fancy Whole Cumin $6.25

Whole Cumin resembles caraway seeds. They are used whole in some rice dishes as well as vegetable curries and appetizers. It has a distinct flavor and aroma and adds a light texture to the dishes.

Hand Picked Whole Cloves $5.75

Cloves are unopened flowers and come from an evergreen tree. It is used whole in most curries, tea and some desserts.

Nigella seeds are also called black onion/caraway seeds. These tiny, angular black seeds have a nutty peppery flavor. They are used in pastries and some vegetable dishes to add flavor.

Ground Coriander $7.50

Ground Coriander is used to thicken the sauce mostly in meat curries and has a strong flavor as well as a lemony aroma.

Chili Blend $5.50

Spices, which make the chili blend so tasteful, are ancho powder, salt, garlic, paprika, oregano, cumin and coriander. This spice is typically used in preparing Cholay, which is a spicy chickpeas dish. It can also be used as a marinade for a variety of meats and adds wonderful flavor to the dishes.
