Cinnamon Crumb Cake with Fresh Strawberries

1 pound fresh strawberries
1 cup white sugar
10 slices of cinnamon crumb cake
3 cups heavy whipping cream

Slice fresh strawberries and add them to bowl, add sugar and mix everything together. Set the mixture aside for 10-15 minutes. Whisk the whipping cream so it is thicker but also runny enough to be poured over the dessert and absorbed by the cake. Arrange the cake slices in a glass dish, add a layer of fresh strawberries soaked in sugar. Add another layer of crumb cake and the rest of the strawberries. Pour the whipping cream and let the dessert sit for a 10-15 minutes before serving.
