Keema Matar-Ground Beef with Peas

2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cloves
2 green cardamoms
1 black cardamom
4 inch cinnamon stick
1 medium onion, chopped
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon ginger, chopped
1 8 oz fire roasted tomatoes
2 teaspoons chili powder
½ teaspoon turmeric
2 teaspoons White Jasmine Garam Masala
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup frozen green peas
½ cup cilantro, chopped



Heat the oil, add all whole spices. Add onions. When onions start to turn golden brown on the edges, add ground beef. Stir everything together and then add garlic and ginger. Add ground spices and salt. Let the mixture cook for a few minutes. Add fire roasted tomatoes, mix well. Add green peas. Cover and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and serve with basmati rice.
