Recipes: Moong Dal Kitcheri

Moong Dal Kitcheri - Rice with Lentils:

2 cups basmati rice
½ cup moong dal (yellow lentils)
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cloves
1 tablespoon cooking oil
3 cups warm water

Wash rice and lentils together. Heat cooking oil in a saucepan and add cloves. Add rice, lentils and salt. Add water, bring it to a boil and then cover and leave to simmer for about 20 minutes. Serve with any meat or vegetable dish.
