Recipes: Asparagus and Potato Medley

Asparagus and Potato Medley:

2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon whole cumin
3 whole red chilis, dried
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in chunks
1 bunch fresh asparagus, chopped
½ teaspoon turmeric, ground
1 teaspoon cumin, ground
1 teaspoon salt

Heat oil in a pan, add whole cumin and red chilis, let them sizzle for a minute or so. Add potatoes and asparagus. Saute the mixture for five minutes or so on medium heat. Add all ground spices, mix well. Add warm water and leave the mixture to cook on medium heat until potatoes are tender and all the water evaporates. Serve as a side dish.
